Offseason news around the NFL

For those that know me, I am passionate about the National Football League. My favorite team is the Minnesota Vikings. Ever since I was a kid, I have loved watching the Vikings. As I became older, I became more interested in football. I played football in junior high and high school. Coincidentally, the team I played for in high school was nicknamed the Vikings.
Now, that you know a snippet of my background, this article is about the big moves being made just before free agent frenzy begins. Some of the big moves I heard today was that it is very likely that Adam Thielen is going to get traded to another team. If you’re asking, “who is Adam Thielen?” He is currently a wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings.
Another big move I heard today was that Za’Darius Smith wants to be released from the Vikings. However, Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adolfo-Mensa would rather not let him go.
Kwesi has a lot of decisions to make for his team to get under the cap space that they really don’t have. For example, he has to figure out the starting quarterback situation. Kirk Cousins is the starting QB as of right now, however, with how expensive he is, Kwesi has to figure out if he wants to renegotiate his contract or just let him play out his current contract and then figure it out next offseason.
Moving on from the Vikings, I heard today that the New York Jets are making a run at Aaron Rodgers. In my opinion, I think that would be strange because the Jets are not that good and Rodgers wants to be with veterens that know what they are doing. Plus, he would be following the same path as Brett Favre. If he ended up following Favre, that means after he attempts to retire multiple times, he will come back and play with the Vikings, make the playoffs, but lose in the NFC Championship game.
The last piece of news I heard floating around the NFL is that Derrick Henry could be traded from the Titans. His contract very expensive right now for them. Rightfully so however, he is one of the best running backs in the league right now. In my opinion, I don’t forsee Kwesi trying to find a way to get Henry, but if he did and had Dalvin Cook alongside Henry, the Vikings offense would be very potent.
To wrap it all up, there are some big moves being discussed in the National Football League right now. The Free Agency period starts soon, and there are some big names talked about. I am really excited to see who ends up with which team.
