Justin Jefferson has been cleared to play versus Raiders

Today the Minnesota Vikings are back in action as they play versus the Las Vegas Raiders in Sin City. The team has had ten days to recover from their last game against Justin Fields and the Bears on Monday Night Football. I know you don’t want to think about the loss, as do I, however, I think in order to progress, we need to reflect.

So what went wrong in the game versus the Bears? For starters, Josh Dobbs came down from cloud nine and showed that he is human. With his four intereceptions, there were lots of questions surrounding his abilities to make good decisions. As much as I wanted Jaren Hall to start this week, it’s probably best that Dobbs start to make up for his one bad game that he’s had in five tries. Another thing that went wrong was the offensive playcalling. I don’t think that Kevin O’Connell did the team any favors by not running the rock enough; especially since Dobbs was having trouble throwing to open receivers. Chicago’s pass defense isn’t, nor wasn’t the best that night, and I think it just happened to be that Dobbs just had an off night and made the Bears pass defense look good. However, I’ll stick with my priginal statement. Kevin O’Connell should have let Alexander Mattison and Ty Chandler tote the rock more often thus relieving pressure on Dobbs to make a play.

On the flip side, I think that in order to rectify the mistakes that were made during the Bears game, Kevin O’Connell needs to call a better game plan. This means he needs to run the ball more, not get fancy with trick plays, and try to get Justin Jefferson involved early. The Offensive Line needs to have a superb game in order to give Dobbs the opportunity to get back to what he does best. Coach Flores does not need to change anything on his defense. He has those guys playing excellent coverage right now and they are aggressive. Every fan loves it.

Overall, I think the Minnesota Vikings will come out victorious in the game versus the Las Vegas Raiders, but it will be a close one.
